According to scriptures, the full moon day (Purnima) itself is highly auspicious, but the Purnima that falls in the month of Vaishakh is considered particularly favorable for receiving the blessings of Lord Vishnu. The Vaishakh month is believed to be especially dear to Lord Vishnu.
It is believed that worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion, observing fasts, chanting mantras, performing penance, and engaging in charity on this day brings eternal merit (akshaya punya), prosperity, happiness, and mental peace.
