Success Story : Ankur

Ankur, a young and determined 17-year-old boy from Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India, was born with polio, a disease that left him unable to walk on both legs. Despite the efforts of his family and countless visits to numerous hospitals in search of a cure, nothing seemed to alleviate his condition. Years passed by, and Ankur’s condition remained unchanged, leaving his family with a sense of hopelessness and despair.

His parents were filled with worry and uncertainty about their son’s future. Then one day, a glimmer of hope appeared when a neighbor advised them to take Ankur to Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur. The organization, dedicated to helping those with congenital disabilities, offers free surgeries and treatments to individuals with disabilities.

With renewed hope, Ankur and his parents traveled to Narayan Seva Sansthan on September 9th, 2022, where the doctors examined his case and advised him to wear calipers instead of undergoing surgery. On September 12th, 2022, calipers were made to fit Ankur’s specific needs and were fitted to him, and he was trained to walk with the calipers. The transformation was remarkable. Ankur, who once struggled to stand or walk, was now partially able to do both on his own, much to the delight of his parents.

His family was filled with joy after watching Ankur walk, and they expressed their gratitude to Sansthan for the life-changing impact they had on their son’s life.
