What is Pitru Paksha?

In Hinduism, the time from Bhadrapad Purnima to Ashwin Amavasya is called Pitru Paksha. This period is a special occasion to pray for the peace of the souls of our ancestors and to show respect to them. During this period, ancestors are remembered through Shraddha, Tarpan and donation.

It is said in the scriptures that our life, sanskar and knowledge are affected by Pitru Rin. Pitru Paksha gives us the message that we move forward in life not only with our efforts but also with the accumulated virtues and blessings of our ancestors. Therefore, during this period, it is our spiritual responsibility to remember our ancestors with reverence and faith and pray for their peace.

Tarpan

In the holy Pitru Paksha, Gaya Ji has been called the best pilgrimage for the salvation of ancestors in the scriptures. On this holy land, Narayan Seva Sansthan is making arrangements for Shraddha Tithi Tarpan for the devotees. It is mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas that by performing tarpan as per rituals, the soul of ancestors attains satisfaction, peace and the divine world.

When ancestors are pleased and give blessings, then happiness, prosperity and auspiciousness reside in the life of progeny. Therefore, on this holy occasion, offer water, food and tarpan to your ancestors by performing tarpan on Shraddha Tithi with reverence and faith and satisfy them.

Brahmin and Needy People Food

On the occasion of Pitru Paksha, feeding Brahmins and poor people on the holy land of Gaya Ji is considered to be extremely virtuous. It is said in the scriptures that feeding Brahmins with reverence and providing food to the poor satisfies the soul of ancestors and helps them attain divine world.

This ritual is a living form of faith and religion. Therefore, on this holy occasion, offer food to Brahmins and poor people in the holy land of Gaya Ji and pray for peace, satisfaction and salvation of ancestors.

Mool Paath

On the holy festival of Pitru Paksha, Narayan Seva Sansthan is organizing the seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Mool Paath in the holy land of Gaya Ji. It is mentioned in the scriptures that the progeny who participate in this Mahapaath for the peace and salvation of the souls of their ancestors are freed from the debt of ancestors and become entitled to divine grace.

Listening and organizing Shrimad Bhagwat provides the path of salvation to the ancestors and makes the lives of the progeny filled with happiness, peace and prosperity. Therefore, participate in this Mahapaath with reverence and faith and pray for the satisfaction and salvation of the souls of your ancestors.

Gaya Ji

The Tapabhoomi of Mahatirtha Gaya Ji has been called the best pilgrimage for the liberation of ancestors on the occasion of Pitru Paksha in the scriptures. It is believed that the Tarpan done here with reverence gives peace, satisfaction and divine world to the souls of ancestors. This holy time of Pitru Paksha gives us an opportunity to express gratitude and remembrance towards our ancestors. By performing Shraddha and Tarpan ritually in Gaya Ji, the ancestors are pleased and bless the children, due to which there is happiness, prosperity and auspiciousness in the family.

The Door to Salvation will open with the Tarpan of Ancestors

Narayan Seva Sansthan is providing the devotees a divine opportunity of Shraddha Tithi Tarpan, Brahmin food service and seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Mool Paath organized in the holy land of Gaya Ji on this holy Pitru Paksha. It is said in the scriptures that Tarpan performed with devotion gives peace and salvation to the soul of the ancestors, while it brings the blessings of happiness, prosperity and auspiciousness in the life of the progeny.

Especially in this year’s Pitru Paksha, a rare coincidence of a lunar eclipse on 7 September and a solar eclipse on 22 September is being formed. According to the scriptures, the donation and tarpan done after the end of the eclipse are manifoldly fruitful. Scholars are of the opinion that the Tarpan and donation done in these holy moments also make the lives of the coming generations beneficial.
