Lord Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita, says, “Of all the months, I am Margashirsha,” indicating that this month is excellent and special, where Lord Krishna accepts the devotion and faith of His devotees more than in any other time.

The ancient scriptures say—
“Dānena svargamāpnoti yaśo dhanamayaṁ dhruvam |
Dhanam dharmaṁ ca dharmājñā yathā yathā karmṇe siddhim ||”
