The Puranas describe that on Magh Purnima, the gods themselves descend to earth to bathe in the Ganges and holy places. According to the Padma Purana and Skanda Purana, a devotee who regularly bathes, donates, and worships Lord Vishnu during the month of Magh receives the same virtuous rewards as a Kalpavas. It is believed that every action performed with truth, restraint, and service on this day yields a thousandfold reward and alleviates the sufferings of the devotee’s life.
