In the Indian Sanatan culture, marriage is a sacred spiritual confluence of two families and life journeys. According to the traditions described in the Vedas and Puranas, the seven circumambulations taken with Agni (fire) as the witness are an unbroken resolve to stay together through life’s joys and sorrows, to follow dharma, and to enter the householder’s stage of life with dignity.
Connecting this sacred marital tradition with human service, compassion, and social harmony, Narayan Seva Sansthan is set to organise the grand ‘47th Divyang and Needy Collective Marriage Ceremony’ on the historic soil of Udaipur.
This two-day marriage mega-event will be held on 19 and 20 September 2026 at the organisation’s ‘Seva Mahatirth’ premises in Leo ka Guda, Badi, Udaipur. The ceremony is bringing hope, self-respect, and a new dawn of light into the lives of hundreds of differently-abled and economically deprived young people who remain deprived of the basic social right of marriage due to physical challenges or poverty.
This collective marriage taking place in the city of lakes, Udaipur, will be a wonderful confluence of humanity and faith. During the two-day festival, marriage mandaps will be decorated according to traditional customs. In the presence of learned pandits, the auspicious sound of Vedic mantras will resonate, and amidst the melodies of shehnais, needy and differently-abled brides and grooms will hold each other’s hands and enter the unbreakable bond of seven births.
This ritual of Narayan Seva Sansthan is a source of support for those helpless families for whom performing kanyadaan or bearing the huge expenses of a wedding is a challenge. Setting aside social evils and economic inability, the organisation provides such couples the opportunity to enter a new life with complete dignity and respect.
In Sanatan Dharma, every auspicious work begins with the worship of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. In accordance with this religious tradition, the collective marriage ceremony will also begin with Ganesh Puja.

In the Sanatan tradition, donation is considered a means of purifying the soul and attaining supreme merit. In particular, performing the kanyadaan of a helpless or differently-abled daughter and supporting her household is described in the scriptures as the highest form of service. It is said—
Kanyadaanamaham Punyam Swargam Moksham Cha Vindati.
That is, the person who performs or participates in the ritual of kanyadaan with devotion and a spirit of service becomes a sharer of great merits and becomes entitled to the path of heaven and liberation.
