{"id":5603,"date":"2022-11-04T05:04:23","date_gmt":"2022-11-04T05:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.narayanseva.org\/?p=5603"},"modified":"2026-03-31T08:33:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:33:32","slug":"donate-money-online-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.narayanseva.org\/te\/donate-money-online-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"How can I donate money online in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the affidavit presented by the Central Bureau of Investigation to the Supreme Court of India, there are more than 31 lakh NGOs\/ <\/span><b>charities in India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with more than 76,000 <\/span><b>NGOs in Delhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2021, around 75% (three in four) people have given money to a charitable cause and even though cash remains the most prevalent method to give donations to a <\/span><b>charity in India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, its usage has declined. Instead, the digital modes of donations have seen a rapid increase over the past 3 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, there are a lot of <\/span><b>NGO websites in India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that accept online donations, however, the question is, how can a person donate online!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before learning about that, let&#8217;s look into the benefits of donating online.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The benefits are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They allow quick and easy transfer of money from anywhere<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the transaction is successful, the details of it are automatically stored in the system. Hence, the donor doesn&#8217;t have to fill in the details again for donating to the same NGO which saves a lot of time for them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case of emergency, donors can easily send the amount via online mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amount of more than Rs 2,000 can be donated via online mode which is not possible with cash donation as it has a limit of Rs 2000.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even NRIs can <\/span><b>donate for India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or Indian charities via online mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Online donations are one of the easiest ways to donate money. A donor can donate money online via &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visiting the NGOs website and clicking on their donation button.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Followed by that, they can fill in the necessary details and continue their transaction via UPI, net banking, or any other online mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>NGO websites in India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have even ensured that necessary assistance is provided to the donors if they are facing any issue while donating online.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Tax exemption on online donations<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under Section 80G, online donation to a registered charitable trust or fund is subjected to tax exemptions. However, there are certain points that the donor has to be sure of, if they want to receive a deduction.
