It is well said that \u201cHappiness doesn\u2019t result from what we get, but from what we give\u201d. Helping poor people is a form of gratitude and service to god and humanity. People should always look out for an opportunity to help one another. One should always be on the lookout for any opportunity to help the needy. One such platform could be social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some ways in which you can help the needy through social media:<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. Send out electronic donations:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Nowadays, it is common to plea for help using social media. One may come across donation requests for some surgery, or any medical equipment like <\/span>prosthetic legs<\/span> or to pay for some kid\u2019s college fee. These requests can be a good way to help out people in need. One can <\/span>donate<\/a> online <\/span>after due verification of the beneficiary. There are several <\/span>donation sites<\/span> that post such verified donation notifications.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Help out NGOs in spreading awareness:<\/span><\/h3>\n

If you are keen to help out the needy, you can look for a <\/span>list of NGOs<\/a> in India<\/span> and help promote their campaigns on social media. This could also be taken up as a volunteer internship wherein you could assist them by handling and managing their social media presence.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Engage in Activism:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Nowadays activism is not just about fighting and protesting for people\u2019s rights by marching on roads, but it’s about advocating and spreading awareness about people\u2019s issues on a day-to-day basis. And social media is a great sphere for that. <\/span>One can create awareness about the problems of the needy<\/span>. <\/b>This could also help the government to better understand the needs of the underprivileged sections. Activists can also engage in <\/span>online fundraising<\/span> for a specific cause and later donate the collected money to an NGO.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Spreading Awareness:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is true that a major proportion of the poor population won’t have access to the internet or social media, however, amongst the little proportion of such people who do have access there is a lack of awareness of the various benefits schemes launched by the government. One could do research and share this information over social media targeting the needy who could be largely benefited from these government policies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social media is a very powerful tool and if put to the right use it could transform lives. We should try to use social media in a way that benefits us as well as the society. Let us try using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all these platforms to help out the needy.
