Mauni Amavasya is a sacred and significant day in Hinduism. This day is dedicated to self-reflection, performing rituals for ancestors, and engaging in acts of charity and service. The term “Mauni Amavasya” means purifying the soul through silence. On this day, taking a holy dip in sacred rivers, worshiping Lord Vishnu, and serving the needy bring immense spiritual merit. This year, Mauni Amavasya is particularly special as the third Amrit Snan of the Maha Kumbh is taking place in Prayagraj on this day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Significance of Mauni Amavasya<\/b><\/p>\n

Mauni Amavasya symbolizes self-control and adherence to religious practices. Observing silence on this day calms the mind and purifies the soul. Scriptures state that by performing Ganga Snan and donating to the poor, helpless, and needy, one brings peace to their ancestors, and through their blessings, happiness, peace, and prosperity come to the family.<\/span><\/p>\n
