When this lockdown hit, they lost their jobs, their resources got over quickly and they were left without food, without money and other necessary resources. They needed some pandemic unemployment assistance and the government provided it. The government saw how poor people were suffering and dying. They announced a huge financial package to help out the people in need. According to government data, travelling crop sellers, daily wage workers, rickshaw pullers, maids and other such workers make up about 85% of total employment of our country and thus are the spine of the Indian economy.
