  08 Jun'2020

Our Indian culture has taught us that family is love. We should respect our elders and love the young ones. By living in a family, we learn lots of valuable ethics and manners. Those who have people close to them who love them from the bottom of their hearts are truly the lucky ones. They get to talk to them about their sorrows, their happiness, the good and bad things that have happened to him throughout the day. Having someone to talk about your feelings without being judged is one of the most important aspects of being a human and leading a happy life.

A detailed description of Mass Wedding Drive by NSS

We often see that people who suffer from disabilities, both physical and psychological, are cast out of their families. He does not have someone to take care of him, and the disabilities affect him more. In these times, we learn that it is very vital to have someone close to you, who understands your pain and is always their comfort and support you. The best way to find someone who understands you is to find someone who goes through the same pain as you. This is when Narayan Seva Sansthan thought that, the disabled people who they take care of, help them with corrective surgeries, should be married among similar people. Thus, fulling the role in both of their lives of a loved one and someone who can comfort each other.

People are mostly not interested in marrying a disabled person as he or she may hold him back from achieving their dreams and which will lead to an unhappy marriage. So, Narayan Seva Sansthan arranges mass weddings, where several handicapped bride & groom are married off. They arrange for everything and give the physically disabled couple a wedding similar to a traditional one. It has all the celebrations and all the extravagance. Their marriages are recorded in videos and photos are taken of this auspicious moment. There are also long Baratis like all other weddings, the family members are invited and treated with care and respect. Sadhaks and widely popular people are also among the guest list. Everything is accompanied by music, which is a great source of fun and enjoyment. Every aspect of the wedding is taken care of by Narayan Seva Sansthan so that those couples can have a great day to remember and cherish.

Being a non- profit organization, Narayan Seva Sansthan never backs out from socially beneficial activities. Recently on 8th -9th February 2020, they organized the 34th “Royal Mass Wedding of Differently-abled & Underprivileged Couples”. This event took place in Udaipur, Rajasthan. These couple of days various functions were organized to entertain the physically disabled couple, their family, and all the other guests. These days were incredibly special as the couple gets to have a partner for their lifetime, moreover, a friend with whom he can share everything. So, these disabled marriages are of special significance to them as this marks the beginning of a new life for the forever repressed and antagonized people. This Royal Mass Wedding had a moto too, the handicapped bride & groom promoted a very noble gesture, ‘Say No to Dowry’.

Mr. Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan Seva Sansthan said, “Royal Mass Wedding Ceremony is an idea to bring the marginalized section of society to the mainstream by giving them social and economic rehabilitation and support to start their new lives post Marriage. The Narayan Seva Sansthan will also be offering them skill training to run their life and make them more employable to lead a better life in the future. This wedding ceremony at a huge scale is an initiative taken by the Narayan Seva Sansthan's post-economic screening process of families where it is made sure that the bride‘s family would not pay a dowry to the groom.”

Often, we see and read in the news that young girls are abused by their in-laws on grounds of dowry. They are mentally tortured, beaten, and often killed in a gruesome manner. This is a sin on the whole of Humanity. By organizing these marriages for disabled candidates, Narayan Seva Sansthan is doing a great job and saving the lives of several young girls who come from poor and unprivileged backgrounds. Since the commencement of this NGO, more than 2000 physically disabled couples are enjoying a better life. They have satisfaction and happiness in their lives. Many are blessed with normal kids and thus leading a healthy life.

Narayan Seva Sansthan has worked tirelessly for the good of the poor and underprivileged people for the last 30 years. They have provided assisted help to about 4 lakh patients and given them the best care that includes medicines, medical services, and adapted technology without charging them a single rupee. They have constructed a hospital facility in Badi village, Udaipur, Rajasthan which comprises 1100 beds which takes care of all the needs of the patients and also provides them socio-economic support. Another specialty of this hospital is that there is no payment gateway or cash counter which will charge the patients for the life-changing services provided to them.
